S.H.A.D.O.W Control System

This is an optional but common upgrade to replace the RC controller, the new controller is very easy to conceal when you are in costume or want to blend in to the crowd.

• PS3 Move Navigation Controller ( Example )
  • Battery Replacement ( Thread  | New Battery )
  • Charging Station ( Example )
• Droid Master Controller (SHADOW MSE Compatible) ( Purchase ) ( Instruction Video ) ( Thread )
• Arduino Uno R3, Arduino Mega R3 (slightly more expensive), (or Mega ADK, discontinued)
• Arduino USB Host Shield (If not using a Mega ADK)
  • SAVE YOURSELF BUY THIS ONE ( here )
  • WARNING
    • a/o December 2023, all shields available on Amazon and AliExpress require replacing a chip on the board. Save yourself and by this one.
    • Most other shields will require soldering and repair ( see here )

• Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter
  • This must be an adapter that uses the older Bluetooth 4.0 spec.
  • ( Example )
• HobbyWing Quicrun 1060 ESC
  • ( Purchase )
• Deans (female) to Male T-connector (Traxxas) adapter
  • This is handy with the new ESC which comes with a Deans connector for the battery. I like no-fuss adapters for this build where they make sense.
  • ( Example )
• USB-A to USB-B data cable ( Computer -> Arduino )
• USB-A to Mini USB data cable ( PS3 Move -> Arduino )
• Female - Female Dupont Wires

  • The wiring in your car will be Black, Red, and White so at least have those colors. Since you will likely be wiring more than that (audio, etc.) it helps to have more than these three colors.
  • ( Example )

Optional Upgrades

• Hex Wheel Hub upgrade
• Aluminum side panel cooling fins
